The lost and damage resulted from environmental issues to China at present is the amount $ 80 billion per year. Therefore, China is becoming the biggest environmental protection investment market at the beginning of this century and the demands on environmental products will be increased significantly. In addition to the terminal treating market for environmental pollution, there have enormous business opportunities on the aspects of eco-protection、ecological farming、organic food、and green products、hypo-hazard products and environment related service. Energy saving is also a very demanding area.

The domestic technologies and existing products can not satisfy the present market need, so we should learn more on the advanced environmental technology and introducing new environmental products from abroad, and it is a key period for the foreign enterprises to enter the Chinese environment market during the next ten years.

Some big foreign environmental enterprises have developed business in China, some of them have made successful business initially; as a big country, it takes a lot of effort and investment to promote their products in China, which is more difficult and challenging for the middle and small size oversea companies. It is becoming a modern manufacturing base oriented by new & hi-tech industries. There are 91 of Global Fortune 500 corporations have established corporations or branches in Suzhou. ETC is relied on various favorable conditions in Suzhou National New & Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone and Suzhou National Environmental New & Hi-tech Industrial Park, which is a multi-functional service center for popularizing advanced environmental-protection concepts and providing exhibition platform for international environmental protection products and technologies. The ETC is a cooperation and communication window between China and overseas for environmental protection scientific and technological fields and industry circles。. ETC will make effort to combine informatization with industrialization, and give full play to trading functions integrated with products, property rights and technologies, and make the ETC to be an exhibition、trading、evaluation center for global new & hi- technologies and products.

Layout and Function
Environmental products and technology exhibition hall: It mainly exhibit and transact technologies and products, it is also a public exhibition area for all the countries to take governmental environmental protection activities. With the total area of 8,000 SQM, the Phase I Project shall have 242 exhibition booths. The international exhibition hall shall be divided into areas for different countries.

Green products exhibition and trade hall (environmental supermarkets): it mainly displays and sells green environmental protection products with high quality and it also provides green products certification service and agent for bidding services. The hall shall be divided into several parts which include solar energy, water, ecological building, environment-friendly automobiles and green food, etc. The exhibition hall lies on the first and second floor of the center with the total area of 2000sq meters. These displayed products include solar energy products, air purifier, air deodorizer, air disinfector, air ventilator. Water purifying facility includes active carbon, magnetization, oxidation, calefacient, fiber. Ecological building category includes indoor environment monitoring, eco-architecture designing, sightseeing products, environmental construction and sound insulation facility. Eco-automobile includes inner decorations, inner environmental device, exhausted gas devices, oil-saving device, non-water washing car, renewable tires etc. Healthy food includes all kinds of foods and water with green product certification.

Information management center: The main functions are product marketing research and bidding for agent; information collection; exchange and ditribution; green products, ISO14000 certification; effluent discharge right transaction；solid waste trading. In the first phase it provides green product and ISO1400 certisfication; the effluent discharge right transaction; solid waste transaction. The information management center lies on the third floor with nearly 3000 sqm.

International conference center: offers meeting affairs services for leagued enterprises and various industrial associations. It shall be located on the third floor of Phase II Project.

Science popularization and public education (education on environmental protection, public participation and interaction etc): Offers the public with environmental protection science popularization and education facilities and places, carrying out different sorts of interaction activities to expand influences.

Exhibition Center: ETC have a special team dealing with EP products and technology exhibition works. Several national expos has been held till now in ETC.
